Therefore, we grow toxin-free

Why we cultivate without chemicals – for you and for the future

At Hasta Gård, we cultivate without chemical pesticides – not because it's easier, but because it's right. We have chosen the chemical-free path to protect what is most valuable to us: human health, our ecosystems, and future generations' ability to live in balance with nature.

For you as a consumer

Food grown without chemical pesticides contains fewer residues of substances that can disrupt the body's systems. Research shows that even small amounts of certain pesticides can affect gut flora, hormones, and the immune system – especially in children. By choosing chemical-free, you reduce your exposure to these substances and at the same time contribute to a healthier food chain.

For our insects and ecosystems

The chemicals used in conventional agriculture – e.g., neonicotinoids, glyphosate, and pyrethroids – are major contributors to the global insect decline. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are disappearing at an alarming rate. Without them, our ecosystem collapses. Chemical-free cultivation protects these key species and restores balance.

For our water and our soil

Pesticides are not only spread on the field – they end up in groundwater, in watercourses, and in our lakes. Some substances do not break down for decades. By cultivating without chemicals, we reduce the risk of drinking water contamination and promote living soil with rich microbial life.

For the reproductive capacity of mammals

Studies have shown that several pesticides affect the fertility of wild and domestic animals. Reduced sperm quality, hormonal disruptions, and altered behavior are some of the serious consequences. These effects can be inherited across generations. Chemical-free cultivation is therefore not just an ethical choice – it is a responsibility.

For our children and grandchildren

We believe in agriculture that does not deplete – but builds up. Agriculture that works in harmony with nature and creates life instead of destroying it. The contamination of our environment must be stopped, and we must act now. By cultivating without chemicals, we show that there is another way – a sustainable way – that protects both humans and the planet.
