Effects of Acetamiprid on Humans

Acetamiprid is a systemic insecticide belonging to the neonicotinoid group. Although it is considered less toxic to humans than some other pesticides, there are several suspected effects from prolonged or high exposure.

Possible effects on humans:

1. Neurological effects:
- May affect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the human nervous system.
- Studies have linked it to headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and difficulties with concentration and memory.
- Animal studies show potential effects on brain development at the fetal stage.

2. Hormonal effects and reproduction:
- Some animal experiments show effects on reproductive organs and sperm quality.
- Suspected to be an endocrine disruptor.

3. Liver and kidney function:
- Repeated exposure in animal studies has shown effects on the liver and kidneys.

4. Acute poisoning (uncommon):
- High exposure can lead to nausea, vomiting, respiratory problems, and unconsciousness.
